ImmuRx
ImmuRx is a Lebanon, New Hampshire, based vaccine developer for cancer and chronic infections that is changing the potential of immunotherapy to treat cancer and chronic infectious disease.

ImmuRx has developed an original immunotherapy platform for cancer and infectious disease, which, for the first time, links the two halves of the immune system. Adjuvants, which stimulate the immune system, and antigens, which direct the response to a specific target, now work together in ImmuRx’s new platform. The company has received a patent for this unique development.

Allyon Capital Partners’ investment in ImmuRx has been added to a $329,000 National Institutes of Health SBIR grant that the company was awarded in April 2009 to develop their lead compound, hCD40, and to expand their patent portfolio. While the hCD40 compound is intended to strengthen vaccines in treating metastatic melanoma, its applications could be even broader, with potential to target cancer stem cells, bacterial or viral infections, and HIV/AIDS viruses.

The immune system is composed of an ancient line of “innate” defenses conserved from the distant past (antigens), and an “acquired” set of selective defenses that can generate billions of permutations to fight a pathogen (adjuvants). ImmuRx’s vaccine candidate is intended to activate both parts of the system. To date, ImmuRx has demonstrated significantly greater immune responses and greater therapeutic benefit than most competing adjuvants in a wide variety of disease indications.

The company’s management team has the needed experience in business development, IP protection, drug discovery, and human clinical trial execution to develop a proprietary compound with the potential to make a dramatic impact in medicine:
