Nanocomp Technologies, Inc

Winner of The Wall Street Journal’s prestigious Technology Innovation Award in 2008, Nanocomp Technologies, Inc. was founded in 2004 and is based in Concord, New Hampshire. Its purpose is to leverage its proprietary and fundamental advancements in the production of long carbon nanotubes as well as its unique ability to fabricate them into physically strong, lightweight and electro-thermally conductive yarns and sheets. The company’s objective is to develop products with revolutionary performance benefits, creating a new generation of energy saving advanced materials and electro-thermal devices. These include lightweight yarns for wiring and cable, and value-added component products such as conductive cables, thermal straps, shields, and composites. Nanocomp Technologies is positioned to be the first company capable of delivering the technical and commercial potential of carbon nanotubes across high value industrial markets.

Funded by more than $5 million of government research contracts from the US Army, Office of Naval Research, and the Air Force, Nanocomp has progressed to pursuing commercial relationships with companies across sectors that include aerospace (Northrop Grumman, Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Textron/Bell), electronics (Motorola), and others (Xerox, Rohm&Haas). Non-Disclosure Agreements have been signed with more than two dozen commercial and defense/aerospace prospective partners.

The company has a senior management team with a proven track record of technical innovation and commercial business success. Peter Antoinette, the Co-founder, CEO and President, has significant experience in Fortune 500 corporations as well as in start-up executive management positions. He developed the company’s business plan, led initial and current funding activities, and is leading its commercialization efforts. David Lashmore (the technology’s principal inventor) is a co-founder, Vice President and Chief Technology Officer leading the research and development program. Since the successful 2006 Series A financing the management team was expanded to include: Dr. Mark Banash, Vice President of Engineering and Quality, formerly Head of Production and Quality of Zyvex Corporation, a manufacturer of carbon nanotube infused polymers; and John Dorr, Vice President of Business Development, the former Vice President of Sales and Marketing of DTC Communications, where he developed government/defense and commercial businesses.
